1st Encounters: August 21, 1955, Hopkinsville Kentucky.
Billy Ray Taylor, apart of a group of 5 adults and seven children, witnessed a round, metallic object over their home in Kelly-Hopkinsville Kentucky. After convincing another member, Lucky Sutton, to accompany him to where he believed the object went, the two found a glowing object approaching them from the woods. What was coming towards them was a short humanlike creature, with large eyes.
On the evening of August 21, 1955, five adults and seven children arrived at the Hopkinsville police station claiming that small alien creatures from a spaceship were attacking their farmhouse and they had been holding them off with gunfire “for nearly four hours”. Two of the adults, Elmer Sutton and Billy Ray Taylor, claimed they had been shooting at “twelve to fifteen” short, dark figures who repeatedly popped up at the doorway or peered into the windows.
2nd Encounter: June 2012 Hellier Kentucky
A man in Hellier Kentucky wrote an email to ghosthuntersinc(at)gmail.com in order to find help to deal with little creatures that were terrorizing his family. The full letter is at Week In Weird.
For the past 6 months I have been living in a rural home located on the border of West Virginia and Kentucky where my family is nightly assaulted by creatures that I have come to believe are of an extraterrestrial origin. These beings appear to be the size and stature of a small child, devoid of any facial features save for large, oily eyes and lipless mouths. They frighten my children by peering through their bedroom windows, chirping at one another. They actively attempt to enter my home in the middle of the night. Last month they took my dog. The police refuse to provide any further assistance, attributing the problems to wild animals and forwarding my complaints to the state game commission.
Description: 4 feet tall; pale skin; bald; large round eyes; pointed ears; no nose; clawed hands; slit for mouth; makes chirping sounds.
Theories: Aliens; unknown species; real goblins from another dimension
